10 Pakistani Shows & Movies Copied From Bollywood

Remember how Indian totally drooled over the gorgeous Fawad Khan when we saw him for the first time in Khoobsurat? Similarly, Pakistani cinema is also a big fan of Bollywood celebrities.

Since the cultural heritage and language is nearly the same for both industries, they share an uncanny resemblance in the plot lines of their movies and shows. However, Lolly wood has exactly copied some plot-lines from Bollywood's well-known shows and movies.

Here are some of the examples:

1Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida copied from Judaai

Revolving around a woman, who entrusts her husband to a rich woman to achieve her dreams, this show shares an uncanny resemblance with the Bollywood movie Judaai. When the audience spotted the resemblance in plot lines, the makers announced that it “may have been inspired” by the 90s hit Hindi movie.

However, the married couple has a daughter instead of a son like in the movie and instead of the mother, the father leaves his wife.

Donald Trump bans 8 more Chinese apps, cites India's ban as example

 06 Jan 2021 | By Adminstration

President Donald Trump's order said this action is needed to 'deal with the national emergency' caused by the 'pervasiveness of the spread' of apps created and controlled in China.

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to ban Chinese apps including Alipay, WeChat Pay, and other apps owned by China-based companies. Some of these apps include Jack Ma-owned Ant Group's Alipay, Tencent's QQ and WeChat Pay, CamScanner, and more. The executive order will come into effect in 45 days. Interestingly, it will take effect weeks after Joe Biden takes over as the new President of the United States.

Trump has taken major inspiration from the government in ordering a ban against the Chinese apps. He has even cited India’s example in the executive order. "The Government of India has banned the use of more than 200 Chinese connected software applications throughout the country; in a statement, India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology asserted that the applications were stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users' data in an unauthorized manner to servers which have locations outside India," Trump wrote in his executive order. Some of the apps that he wants to ban in the United States are already banned in India. The apps include CamScanner, QQ Wallet, SHAREit, Tencent QQ, VMate, WeChat Pay, and WPS Office.

Trump had signed his first executive order against Bytedance-owned TikTok in August. He had asked the company to sell its US arm to an American company failing which it will be banned and blocked in the United States. He has also blocked transactions with Chinese apps included TikTok ad Bytedance. However, in December, a Federal court judge had tried to stop the TikTok ban in the US by granting a preliminary injunction.

"The pace and pervasiveness of the spread in the United States of certain connected mobile and desktop applications and other software developed or controlled by persons in the People's Republic of China, to include Hong Kong and Macau (China), continue to threaten the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States," the executive order read."The US must take aggressive action against those who develop or control Chinese connected software applications to protect our national security.”

On June 29, the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps citing national security reasons. TikTok, WeChat, and UC Browser were among the popular apps that were kicked out of the app stores in India. In the second wave of the Chinese app ban, the government 118 Chinese apps including the popular mobile game PUBG. Later in November, some of the shopping websites owned by AliExpress were also banned by the government.

WikiLeaks founder Assange denied bail in UK

06 Jan 2021 | By Administration

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who has been jailed in Britain since 2019 as he fights extradition to the United States, has been denied bail in the UK.

A British judge on Wednesday denied bail to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who has been jailed in Britain since 2019 as he fights extradition to the United States. District Judge Vanessa Baraitser ordered Assange to remain in prison while the courts consider an appeal by U.S. authorities against a decision not to extradite him. On Monday, the judge rejected an American request to send Assange to the U.S. to face espionage charges over WikiLeak's publication of secret military documents a decade ago.

She denied extradition on health grounds, saying the 49-year-old Australian was likely to kill himself if held under harsh U.S. prison conditions. The judge said Wednesday that Assange “has an incentive to abscond” and there is a good chance he would fail to return to court if freed.
